Spine-Focused Evaluation, Management, and Rehabilitation
Neck pain, back pain, and spine-related symptoms can have many different causes.
At Strategic Spine Management & Chiropractic, we do not assume that every spine problem needs the same treatment.
We start with an evaluation to better understand what is bothering you, how the problem is affecting your life, and what your examination shows.
From there, we explain what we find and help you decide what makes sense next.
What We Help With
We evaluate and manage a range of spine-related problems and injuries.
Neck & Upper Back Problems
We commonly evaluate patients with concerns such as:
- Neck pain
- Neck stiffness
- Upper back pain
- Pain with movement
- Muscle tension or spasm
- Headaches that may be related to the neck
- Pain traveling into the shoulder or arm
- Numbness or tingling
- Symptoms related to a disc or nerve
- Symptoms following an injury
Not every neck problem comes from the same structure.
Your evaluation helps us determine whether your symptoms appear more consistent with a joint, muscle, disc, nerve, injury-related, or other problem—and whether additional evaluation may be needed.
Low Back & Sciatica
Low back pain is common, but the reason for it can vary from person to person.
We evaluate concerns such as:
- Low back pain
- Back stiffness
- Pain with bending, sitting, standing, or lifting
- Pain traveling into the hip, buttock, or leg
- Sciatica-type symptoms
- Numbness or tingling
- Disc-related symptoms
- Recurrent episodes of back pain
- Difficulty returning to normal activity
- Symptoms following an injury
Our goal is not simply to identify where you hurt.
We also look at how you move, what activities are difficult, whether there are signs of nerve involvement, and what factors may be contributing to the problem.
Accident & Injury Care
A car accident, fall, sports injury, or other traumatic event may affect the spine in different ways.
Some people develop symptoms immediately.
Others notice symptoms later as soreness, stiffness, headaches, restricted motion, or difficulty returning to normal activity.
An injury evaluation may include reviewing:
- How the injury happened
- When symptoms began
- Areas of pain or stiffness
- Neurologic symptoms such as numbness or tingling
- Movement and function
- Previous emergency, urgent care, or medical evaluations
- X-rays, CT scans, or MRI studies when available
- Previous treatment and response
The goal is to understand the injury, identify findings that may affect care, and determine a reasonable next step.
If additional imaging or another healthcare provider is appropriate, we will discuss that with you.
Work-Related Spine Problems
Back and neck problems can make it difficult to work safely and comfortably.
We evaluate spine-related concerns that may affect activities such as:
- Lifting
- Carrying
- Bending
- Reaching
- Sitting
- Standing
- Walking
- Driving
- Repetitive activity
- Returning to normal job duties
When work is affected, understanding your actual functional limitations matters.
Our goal is to help identify what you can and cannot comfortably do, track improvement, and help guide an appropriate return toward normal activity.
Because workers' compensation cases have specific scheduling and coverage requirements, please call our office before scheduling a work-injury visit.

What Treatment May Include
Treatment is based on your evaluation.
There is no single treatment that every Strategic patient receives.
Depending on your findings, goals, and comfort level, your care may include one or more of the following.
Chiropractic & Manual Care
Hands-on care may be used when it is appropriate for the condition being treated.
This may include chiropractic adjustment or other manual treatment techniques.
An adjustment is not automatically part of every visit or every treatment plan.
The type of hands-on treatment used should fit the patient and the problem.
Therapeutic Exercise & Rehabilitation
Exercise is often an important part of spine care.
Rehabilitation may focus on areas such as:
- Mobility
- Strength
- Stability
- Movement control
- Balance
- Endurance
- Returning to normal activities
Exercises should have a purpose.
As you improve, the program can change and progress with you.
Movement-Based Care
How you move can affect how you feel and what activities you are able to perform.
When appropriate, we may evaluate and work on movement patterns related to activities such as:
- Bending
- Lifting
- Reaching
- Sitting
- Standing
- Walking
- Exercise
- Work activities
The goal is not to make every person move the same way.
It is to help you move more comfortably and confidently for the activities that matter to you.
Home Recommendations
What happens between visits can be just as important as what happens in the office.
Depending on your condition, we may discuss:
- Home exercises
- Activity modification
- Gradual return to activity
- Movement strategies
- Positioning
- Self-care recommendations
- Ways to manage symptoms between visits
Home recommendations should support the overall plan rather than create a long list of things you have to do.
Do I Need an X-Ray or MRI?
Not every spine problem needs imaging.
We consider imaging when it may help answer an important clinical question or change what happens next.
You may not need new imaging if your history and examination provide enough information to begin appropriate care.
If you already have an X-ray, MRI, or CT scan, let us know.
We can consider those findings along with your symptoms and examination.
An imaging finding does not always explain pain by itself. The important question is whether the finding matches what is happening clinically.
If additional imaging appears appropriate, we will explain why.
What If I Already Have an MRI?
Bring the report if you have it, or let us know where the study was performed.
We will review available imaging information in the context of your symptoms and examination.
Terms such as:
- Disc bulge
- Disc protrusion
- Degenerative changes
- Arthritis
- Stenosis
- Nerve compression
can sound alarming when read on an imaging report.
These findings do not always mean the same thing for every patient.
Part of our job is to help you understand how the imaging may—or may not—relate to what you are experiencing.
What If Chiropractic Care Is Not the Right Next Step?
We will tell you.
Sometimes another provider or another type of evaluation makes more sense.
Depending on your findings, that may include coordination with:
- Primary care
- Orthopedics
- Physical medicine and rehabilitation
- Pain management
- Neurology
- Spine surgery
- Diagnostic imaging
- Other appropriate healthcare providers
Our goal is not to keep every patient in our office.
Our goal is to help you find a reasonable next step.
How We Know Whether Care Is Working
Feeling better matters.
But we also want to know whether you are getting back to the things your symptoms were stopping you from doing.
Depending on the problem, we may track changes in:
- Pain and symptoms
- Mobility
- Strength
- Daily activities
- Work tolerance
- Exercise
- Sleep
- Examination findings
- Functional goals
- Standardized questionnaires when appropriate
Progress helps guide the plan.
If you are improving, care may progress or become less frequent.
If you are not improving as expected, we reassess the situation and decide whether something should change.
How Long Will I Need Care?
There is no predetermined answer.
Some problems may improve quickly.
Others may require more time, rehabilitation, or coordination with another provider.
The recommended plan depends on factors such as:
- What is causing or contributing to the problem
- How long symptoms have been present
- Injury severity
- Functional limitations
- Your examination findings
- Your goals
- Previous treatment
- Your response to care
We reassess as you progress rather than deciding from the beginning that everyone needs the same number of visits.
No predetermined treatment plan.
No membership requirement.
No pressure to commit to long-term care.
Your First Step Is an Evaluation
You do not need to know your diagnosis before scheduling.
You do not need to know whether you need an adjustment.
And you do not need to decide on a treatment plan before you arrive.
Start with an evaluation.
We will listen, examine the problem, explain what we find, and help you decide what makes sense next.
